After attempting several formats for winter classes at HUMMINGBIRD, Dennis and Leslie are now encouraging those interested in instruction to form a small group and “create a class” tailored to their specific interests, schedules and budgets. With over 30 years of experience the artists are well versed in nearly every aspect of ceramics and are happy to help those eager to learn.  Instruction with Dennis or Leslie is available at the rate of $10/hr. per student ($40/hr. minimum).  In about 700 square feet of workspace there are two potter’s wheels, canvas covered tables, an extruder, miscellaneous  handbuilding and throwing tools, shelving, sinks, a small ‘fridge for drinks and snacks, ceramic videos, magazines and books: everything needed for a studio away from home .Electric kilns and a raku kiln are available; a soda fire kiln is planned. Firings are charged at cost.
